The general director of Books, Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez, accompanied by the mayor of Pliego, Isabel Toledo, the City Library opened today after comprehensive rehabilitation of the building, in a performance that has had a total investment of 69,535 euros.
The restoration works have included the repair of the roof, renovation of toilets for handicapped accessible, replacing fixtures, insulation of windows, renovation of the HVAC system and the reorganization of space with new partitions, to create different zones, as a computer area or reading adult and child, among others.
Also, the file has been renovated and equipped with new equipment.
The general director of the Book stated that "after the reform, the space has been left with a more functional and effective."
Statement Municipal Library has about 8,000 volumes and serves on average 500 users per month.
