The Mayor of Pliego received this Friday the Director of the Employment and Training Service to check on the spot the development of the actions
New boost to tourism and the enhancement of the spectacular natural heritage of Pliego through an employment program that, since May of this year and until May 2019, offers alternation between training and real work Ten unemployed Pliego.
The participants, all of them registered as unemployed in the Employment and Training Service and between 25 and 54 years old, are carrying out works of social interest for the consistory.
Specifically, they are reforming the old Municipal Laundry for its adaptation as an interpretation center of the Sima de la Higuera, the largest underground topographic complex in the Region of Murcia.
After completing the almost 2,000 hours of training and practical program, these people will have the opportunity to obtain a certificate of professionalism in 'Basic operations of light coatings and construction technicians', which will significantly increase their options to access a job.
In fact, the obtaining of this qualification was detected as especially necessary by their counselors of the SEF, since their profiles required an accreditation that would increase their employability.
This initiative has a subsidy of 157,000 euros by the SEF, and has the co-financing of the Municipality of Pliego.
This allowance pays the ten student-workers throughout the twelve months of the program.
To verify the development of this program, the mayor of Pliego, Pedro Noguera, received last Friday the Regional Director of the Employment and Training Service, Severa González, making a visit to the Training Classroom where the students were giving a class of theory.
Good harmony between both institutions and a remarkable recognition of the professionalism shown by the technicians in the development of these projects and the brilliant evolution of the students.
