The agreement establishes that the economic resources obtained from the realization of these activities will be destined to maintenance works of the deposit

It is a new step for the enhancement of the deposit after the agreement signed with El Pozo and the announcement of an investment of € 100,000 of Culture

The mayor of Pliego , Pedro Noguera, and the President of the Association of Friends of the Archaeological Site of La Bastida (ASBA), Carlos Velasco, yesterday established a collaboration agreement with the aim that this non-profit association continues to exercise its work of diffusion, promotion and maintenance of the La Almoloya deposit.

With this collaboration agreement, ASBA will be able to continue organizing cultural and scientific visits and excursions to the site, always in charge of qualified personnel.

In the same way, the consistory authorizes the association to organize workshops, courses or conferences on different topics related to the Argaric culture and the La Almoloya site.

An activity that they have been doing since 2016 and that, according to the agreement, they can continue doing until 2022.

For its part, ASBA is committed to promoting and disseminating the archaeological heritage of the town and the La Almoloya site;

as well as to allocate, part or all of the economic resources obtained from the realization of these activities, to maintenance works of the deposit, although in no case those of restoration or conservation.

For the mayor of the municipality, Pedro Noguera, "this agreement is a step forward in favor of disseminating the archaeological treasure that we have in the town." Initiatives such as those carried out by ASBA help us to put in value the past of our municipality , and also makes the cultural offer of the town grow, and last year we have given a spectacular boost to this Argaric site where the First European Parliament is located, first in promotion, being a protagonist in FITUR in Madrid, later with the agreement signed with the company that owns the land, CEFUSA-EL POZO, vital to be able to access public aid, and in this last week with this agreement and with the announcement of Culture of the investment of € 100,000 for its value. "
