During the next few days there will be numerous activities prior to the big days of the holidays, which will be from Thursday 5 to Monday 9 September.
There will be numerous musical events with David DeMaría, Tribute to El Canto del Loco, Tribute to MClan, Tribute to Always So, The site of my Garage, The Happys and outstanding orchestras that will liven up the party at La Glorieta.
Cultural and religious events will also be held, on the 8th as a key event with the Holy Mass and Procession of the patron saint of Pliego, the Virgin of Remedies.
With the end of the summer the Pliego Patron Saint Festivities arrive, which in this edition of the year 2019 are presented with an intense program of musical, recreational, cultural and religious acts.
An appointment where the municipality lives a few days with a spectacular atmosphere and receives many visitors who are happy to enjoy these celebrations among the citizens of La Pguera.
And for this, the book of the festivities has been made known where all events are reported in detail and that is illustrated by photographs both on the cover and on the back cover of Luisma Photographers.
As a starter, the activities scheduled for these Fiestas begin this Wednesday, August 28, with the celebration of the Water Festival in the municipal pool throughout the afternoon.
Then, on the afternoon of this Thursday 29 in La Glorieta, the activity 'Intergenerational Mastercheff' will be carried out, where the participation of children, parents and grandparents with gastronomy will be promoted as the central axis.
Looking ahead to this last weekend of August, Friday will start the novena in honor of the Virgen de los Remedios, which will last until September 7, to continue after 22:00 hours with the massive Night of the Migas, which will be accompanied by concerts and games such as the cucaña or the first rasera shooting tournament in the Parque de las Cañadas.
This Saturday also comes loaded with events, with the I Popular Race through the streets of the town for the benefit of UNHCR with departure from the roundabout at 10:00 hours, and with subsequent coexistence in the Madridista Rock at noon.
In the afternoon, one of the most anticipated and massive activities for young people will take place, such as the Holi Color Race from 5:30 p.m. in the municipal swimming pools.
And at night, the Pliego Experience Festival will arrive with animation, performance, gogos and outstanding DJs in the courtyard of the Pascual Martínez Abellán School.
This Sunday and September 1 will be held from 10:00 a craft market, and an hour later you can enjoy the XXX Motero Villa Pliego Lunch in La Glorieta.
Already at night after the corresponding novena, at 10:30 p.m. the proclamation of the Patron Festivities will be held by Mrs. Remedios Bautista Lara, who will officially open the festivities and will then give rise to the traditional tribute to the Third Age and a concert in charge of the outstanding Musical 'After the Curtain'.
The beginning of the week of the festivities will arrive on Monday with the start in the afternoon of the Porras championship in the Sociocultural Center, and from 20:00 hours the photographic tour 'The corners of Pliego', whose photographs will be exhibited from from September 13 in the Tinajas room.
Already on Tuesday there will be a sporting event in the municipal pavilion with the party-presentation of the FS Pliego squad, which this season debuts in 3rd National against the Puntarrón de Mula, promoted in turn to 2nd B.
That same night from 22:00 in La Glorieta you can enjoy the Musical Theater 'Beauty and the Beast'.
The activities will intensify closer to the big days.
On Wednesday, September 4 from 6:00 p.m. in La Glorieta, the Great Children's Costume Dance will take place, and at night you can enjoy Children's Day at the Fair with popular prices.
On Thursday 5, the Mass of the Third Age and the corresponding brotherhood meal will be lived in the morning.
From 17:00 a gimkana will be held for all ages in the Las Cañadas park, and at 9:00 p.m. the Fair will be inaugurated and lights will be switched on with the municipal authorities, queens and mister of the Patron Festivities 2019 and the presentation of the 7TV journalist Nazareth Navarro.
And then, the popular festival will begin with the performance of the Orchestra La Vendetta.
On Friday 6 will begin strong with the musical afternoons from 18:00 hours with the performance of the group 'The site of my garage' offering a full review of the Spanish poprock of the 80s and 90s. At night it will take place in La Glorieta the Great Costume Dance with the theme 'Cultures of the World' and the performance of the Maxim Orchestra.
The traditional dawn of the 7th, on this occasion Saturday, will open with mass at 7:00 am and the traditional one requested by the streets of the town accompanied by the Pliego Music Band.
At 10:00 hours the competition and exhibition of tractors will be held and at 13:00 hours the Day Fair will be enjoyed, with a tribute to Always So by the hand of the Desflamenka2 group.
That musical evening will be enlivened by the group 'D'Locos' with a tribute to the Canto del Loco, and at night will come from 23:30 hours the musical strong plate with the free concert of David DeMaría on his 20-year tour of musical career where he will delight attendees at La Glorieta.
After this performance and already at dawn, the Platinum Orchestra will put rhythm to the most festive.
On Sunday, September 8, the solemn Mass will be held in honor of the Virgen de los Remedios at 12:00 and then a concert of pasodobles will be held by the Virgen de los Remedios Musical Group in the Plaza Mayor.
In this case, the musical afternoons will be enlivened with the M-Clan Tribute of 'Los Murciélagos', which will set the pace until the celebration from 9:00 p.m. on Holy Mass and the Solemn Procession of the Patron Saint through the streets of Pliego.
At midnight the traditional pyrotechnic show will take place, and the party will continue with the tribute to Lolca Flores 'El Lerele' and the music of the Panther Orchestra.
On the last day of the festivities, on Monday, September 9, the crazy car race will take place at 11:00 a.m. on the main street, and at noon you can dance to the rhythm of Los Happys, with the emblematic Antonio Hidalgo head.
At that same time you can taste the giant paella in the garden of La Glorieta, and in the afternoon the traditional motorcycle and bike treadmill will be done for mixed couples.
Before the closing of the festivities, the traditional raffle of the objects donated to the Virgen de los Remedios in the Plaza Mayor will proceed, and the last night of the party will be threatened by DJs with music from the 80s and 90s to finish at 3 in the morning with the final traca of parties and the tradition of the cakes of cerceñas will be resumed to conclude this intense programming.
