The Mayor of Pliego has received with satisfaction this investment of € 500,000 in 39 homes of the municipality and the great positive impact on employment that will generate all those jobs in the town.
The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure proposes that the municipalities of Pliego, Caravaca de la Cruz and Mula distribute a total of 3,032,000 euros for the urban renewal of their locations that includes the rehabilitation of 149 homes.
The choice of these municipalities has been made following the priorities of the 2018-2021 Housing Plan that promotes actions to prevent rural depopulation by acting in towns with low population.
Counselor José Ramón Díez de Revenga held a meeting today with the mayors of Pliego, Caravaca de la Cruz and Mula, Antonio Huéscar, José Francisco García and Juan Jesús Moreno respectively, to announce the proposal he has submitted to the Ministry of Development on the program of subsidies 'Areas of urban and rural regeneration of the 2019 annuity'.
Díez de Revenga explained that from the public administrations different actions are being carried out "in favor of the depopulated Spain to make our villages more attractive and in order to keep its population".
Another reason to select these municipalities is that the aid reaches the largest number of locations and thus amplify its population effect.
It has also favored those locations that have never received this type of subsidies, such as Pliego and Caravaca de la Cruz.
These subsidies belong to the program of promotion of urban and rural regeneration, in what is called 'Urban or rural rural regeneration and renewal area', better known as ARRU.
Breakdown by municipalities
The counselor explained that the subsidies are intended to "finance works" of rehabilitation of buildings and homes, urbanization or redevelopment of public spaces and reconstruction of buildings or homes, all in an area of action called Arru, which have been previously defined by the municipalities.
If the Ministry accepts this proposal, the three municipalities will receive all the aid they have requested.
That is, Pliego will receive 506,000 euros for 39 homes, Caravaca de la Cruz would have 1,560,000 euros to renovate its municipality and rehabilitate 60 homes, while Mula will get 1,041,000 euros that will be used, among others, to recover 50 homes.
For their part, these grants set a maximum of 12,000 euros and 30,000 euros for certain cases of reconstruction due to under-housing situation.
The amount will not exceed 40 percent of the cost of the action, being able to reach 75 percent in certain cases such as having a low level of income, disabilities or situations of exclusion and special vulnerability.
The mayor of Pliego, Antonio Huéscar, said that this is "great news for Pliego since it will involve a significant investment of more than € 500,000 for the arrangement of 39 homes, something of great importance not only because of the significant economic amount but for the positive impact of all that money on jobs and local businesses.
