The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries will carry out in the coming weeks the tender for the construction of the tertiary treatment of the Pliego treatment plant, which will allow water to be made available to irrigators in the town.
The councilor Francisco Jodar reported this tender today to the representatives of the Community of Irrigation Pliego, at the meeting held in the Ministry.
These actions of construction of the tertiary, which will have an investment of more than 300,000 euros, "are the result of a commitment acquired by the regional government with irrigators in the town, who will be the beneficiaries of the waters being treated," said the councilor .
As of December 31, 2016, the Pliego treatment plant treated a total volume of 185,342 cubic meters of water.
The meeting also addressed the progress of the implementation of telecontrol in Sector II (Huerta Baja), to optimize water consumption and regulation.
These actions, which began last March, have an execution time of 18 months and an investment of 5,759,493 euros, financed 63 percent with Feader funds, 11 percent by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food And Environment and 26 percent by the Autonomous Community.
These works are intended to implement the necessary infrastructure to provide the plots with sufficient flow and pressure to have localized irrigation, rationalizing water consumption and optimizing their regulation through automation and telecontrol.
The works will also allow to reduce the evaporation of the waters of the balsa of the sector and to incorporate renewable energies.
