The Governing Council has authorized the construction of the tertiary treatment system of the Pliego wastewater treatment plant, for a maximum amount of 347,162 euros, charged to the budgets of the Regional Entity for Sewage and Wastewater Treatment (ESAMUR) .
This action will allow water to be made available to irrigators in the locality.
This treatment station, managed by ESAMUR and which last year treated a total volume of 185,342 cubic meters of water, currently has a secondary pretreatment and a basic tertiary treatment formed by an area filter and a chlorination labyrinth.
The approved action will fully guarantee the stability of the wastewater discharge, once treated, and will allow its reuse in agriculture.
With the incorporation of this system, the Pliego sewage plant will join the extensive network with which the regional government provides nearly 100 cubic hectometres of purified water to irrigators, a quarter of the national total.
