This morning at 11.00 a talk by the Civil Guard of Pliego took place within the "Greater Security Plan" of the Ministry of the Interior in collaboration with the Municipality of Pliego, through the Department of Social Services and Senior Citizens, aimed at the prevention and improvement of the safety of our elders.
Our elders are a vulnerable sector of the population, as well as situations of dependency and social isolation that, on occasion, contribute to increase their perception of insecurity.
At the same time, there are certain types of crime, as well as other possible risk situations, which are difficult to detect, compared to which older people can be especially vulnerable.
This plan, carried out in the municipality, is aimed at preventing and improving the safety of our elders, in order to activate a series of measures aimed at improving the information they receive in relation to the security risks that affect them. .
The content of these talks is aimed at the following objectives: Prevent the main threats detected for the safety of the elderly such as: mistreatment in its different aspects, robberies, thefts, fraud and fraudulent use of their properties.
Promote the confidence of the elderly in the Security Forces and Bodies.
Stimulate the response of older people in these cases.
