The mayor has also proposed to López Miras the necessary installation of a Day Center, the purchase of the house of the Tercia for the future museum of the municipality, the winter cinema and the elevation to the Sima de la Higuera to declare it a World Heritage Site. Region
The mayor of Pliego, Pedro Noguera, held a meeting on Tuesday at the Palacio de San Esteban with the regional president, Fernando López Miras, to show him the most urgent and necessary investments to solve the most urgent problems affecting the municipality.
After the written request to the Presidency of the Autonomous Community of a few weeks ago and verbal agreement between the two in FITUR to maintain this meeting, Noguera has used this meeting to influence the president that small municipalities like Pliego "it is vital to have good educational centers, good infrastructures and an exquisite care of our heritage both to combat the progressive depopulation of the rural area and to be attractive for indoor tourism ".
The mayor has proposed that the Regional Government fully promote the settlement of highway RM-515 between Pliego and Alhama, since it is one of the most important departures of the municipality, both for the daily traffic that is produced and for the hundreds of citizens of the region of the Mula River that in summer time take that road to go to the beach.
In addition, it has also requested actions in the own crossing of this regional road as it passes through the center of the municipality, and that there are damaged traffic lights and pedestrian crossings are not properly signposted continuously exposing the public to a high road hazard, and regulating duly access to the Federico Balart Institute.
Another issue that Pedro Noguera has dealt with the regional president is the acceleration of the work to build the new school that dragged years of errors delays, and that last Friday was presented the ambitious project before the educational community of the municipality, requesting collaboration economical in the drafting of said project and the execution of the works of the second phase.
Also as one of the most priority and fundamental projects of the municipality, the necessary installation of a Day Center for the elderly has been exposed by Noguera, in view of the important demand that is taking place in the municipality and of the recent reports of the Commonwealth. of Social Services Río Mula pointing to the importance of providing this service.
The mayor has given special emphasis to the regional president in the support and not abandon research projects in the spectacular archaeological site of La Almoloya, recently declared of Cultural Interest, and that they are suffering the same lack of resources as those of La Bastida de Totana
In this sense, Noguera recalls that "in La Almoloya we have the first European Parliament, in a town of 1800-1400 BC and that we are talking about one of the most important centers of the considered first culture with a developed society of the Iberian Peninsula, whose implementation with due funding can result in a central axis for Pliego. "
The question of the musealization and the enhancement of an interpretation center in the municipality of Pliego itself has also emerged on La Almoloya, to which Pedro Noguera has proposed the purchase of the emblematic Casa de la Tercia as the ideal location for this space.
Around the spectacular Pleguero heritage has also arisen the question of the elevation of the Regional Government to declare La Sima de la Higuera as a Heritage of the Region, a previous step to request the elevation of the Declaration of World Heritage before this singular and spectacular cavity.
And turning in the cultural question, Pedro Noguera has put on the table the question of the use of the winter cinema to undertake actions in this local property, in part, of the Autonomous Community, as well as the enhancement of the historical heritage of the town Fortified and Islamic Cemetery of La Mota.
