The Ministry of Public Works and Planning facilitates accessibility to the building that houses the Social Services Specification, located on the premises of the former town hall, with the installation of an elevator that guarantees access independently to the elderly, dependent or disabled.
The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, said that the installation of this lift will provide "agility, comfort and security and will remove any limitation on accessibility for the disabled, mothers with children or elderly people, improving the provision of Social Services is intended for the building. "
This project represents an investment of 35,546 euros and is part of the program 'Removal of architectural barriers and planning', with which the Department promotes accessibility to buildings and public spaces for all people can use independently.
The building is located on Calle Federico Balart, on a plot of 195 square meters.
It was the old Town Hall and now houses, among others, the Centre for Local Development Specification.
Its construction dates from the mid nineteenth century and originally had a single plant, but after its enlargement in the mid-twentieth century happened to have three floors.
The works comply with the existing stairs, to accommodate the lift, three by three meters, will open holes in the slabs of the roofs of the various floors.
