The deputy spokesman of the Socialist Group, Joaquín López Pagán, was pleased that finally this morning the Status Committee Member of the Regional Assembly has given the green light to start the procedure to study whether the popular MP and mayor of Pliego, Isabel Toledo must leave his seat in Parliament Contract, as requested by the Parliamentary Socialist Group.

López Pagán expressed his hope that the procedures are carried out promptly and resolved as soon as possible "for the sake of democracy."

The Assembly has agreed to a legal report on the issue and asked the Superior Court to the testimony of the conviction to the popular MP.
